SC READY Testing May 7th - May 15th

April 17, 2024

In May, all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be administered the South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Assessment (SC READY).  3rd - 5th grade students will take  ELA Session 1 on May 7th, ELA Session 2 on May 8th, and Math on May 14th.  Students in 4th grade only will also take SC READY Science.  4th grade students will take SC READY Science on May 15th. The SC READY assessment measures student performance on the South Carolina Academic Standards, with test results being used for school, district, and federal accountability purposes. The SC Ready assessment will be administered in a computer based format. Students in 3rd and 4th grade will complete the Text Dependent Analysis (TDA) portion of the assessment on paper.

In an effort to make testing run smoothly; please note students may not bring into the testing location any electronic device; this includes cell phones and smart watches.  We strongly encourage your child to leave their devices home on testing days. Please note that it they arrive on campus with them, they will be collected by the test administrator, placed in a ziploc bag with their name on it and returned back to them when the testing session is over.

Please ensure that your child gets a good night’s sleep each night prior to the test, and eats a nutritious breakfast on the mornings of the test.   Finally, please be sure that your child is at school on time on the days of testing, as testing will begin promptly at 7:50am each day.  It is our expectation that each student does his/her personal best each day of testing.  Students who are absent on any day of testing will be administered make-up tests on or before May 17th.

If you have any questions regarding testing please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Jessica C. Jones

Assistant Principal & School Testing Coordinator
